The Craft Workshop
The Workshop produces a unique range of knitwear, including jumpers and cardigans, scarves, hats and mitts.
We combine local knitters' traditional skills with intriguing patterns inspired by the sea and the island way of life.
As well as our own range, we also stock knitwear from Quernstone and Hume Sweet Hume as well as from Neilanell and Margaret Hamilton in Shetland.
Complementing the knitwear in the Workshop, you will find yarns and textiles from Island Design, Lovatt Textiles, Ladycrow Silks, Hume Sweet Hume, Prim Peacock, Castaway Crafts and Isle of Auskerry.
Orkney boasts an outstanding community of jewellers and silversmiths. We are proud to carry work by Fluke Jewellery, Alison Moore, Sheila Fleet, and Orkney Bracelets.
As well as ceramics from the long-established Fursbreck Pottery and the Westray Pottery, in the Workshop you will find work from Elaine Henderson of Scapa Studios.
On the arts side, the Workshop showcases work by Louise Scott, Sharyn Crossley, Isobel Gardner, Sally Lynch, Jenny Baines, Tracey Hall, Bert Simpson, Edwin Rendall of Wheeling Steen Gallery and several other local artists.
