The Craft Workshop

The Workshop produces a unique range of knitwear, including jumpers and cardigans, scarves, hats and mitts.    

We combine local knitters' traditional skills with intriguing patterns inspired by the sea and the island way of life.

As well as our own range, we also stock knitwear from Quernstone , Hume Sweet Hume ,Viorela Designs, AnnMackie, Susan Reeves, Sue Palmer(Made in Herston), and Margaret Hamilton in Shetland.

Complementing the knitwear in the Workshop, you will find yarns and textiles from Island Design, Lovatt Textiles, Ladycrow Silks, Castaway Crafts and Isle of Auskerry.

Orkney boasts an outstanding community of jewellers and silversmiths.  We are proud to carry work by  Alison Moore, Sheila Fleet, Hestia, Bakau Beads, and Orkney Bracelets.

In The Workshop you will find ceramics from the long-established Fursbreck Pottery, the Westray Pottery, Susan Walls, Robin Palmer and Stuart Broadhurst. 

We also stock a variety of craft items including Peedie Orkney Animals and Carrie Paxton's Beautiful glass work.  

On the arts side, the Workshop showcases work by Louise Scott, Sharyn Crossley, Isobel Gardner, Tracey Hall, Bert Simpson, Edwin Rendall of Wheeling Steen Gallery ,Britt Harcus and several other local artists.
